Catching some air is a continuous project, grounded in the practice of working with images and collected information from art history, history, journals, news, magazines, advertisements, and other resources. The selections collected are usually reproduced/copied with black permanent fibre ink pen, by hand, and all in the same format in order to achieve the highest 'neutrality' possible.
"Far Horizons" is the name of a traditional American quilt square, which this book adopts for its basic pattern. The design combines panoramic vistas from the North American west coast, the Rocky Mountains, and the east coast with images of the artist's urban garden in Rochester, New York.

Florence Paradeis is an artist who touches on what she is familiar with, and what we are all familiar with. She deals with subjects involving each and every one of us and she presents to us the beauty of those brief moments that make up daily life. In her works, these brief moments became metaphors of a unique and personal existence, allusions to the private moments of each person's inner solitude, as perceived by the indifferent attitude which generally witnesses these actions.
